Gorgeous Hat! I've been looking for the perfect pattern for myself and I think this may be it!
This is a lovely hat and one that suits you nicely. I also like your spring green sweater in the post below. You do good work.
Love it! Cables are so much fun to knit!
I love this pattern! I was just about to ask about the 3rd and 4th knit symbols but I see you have added a revision. Thank you! lovely pattern
Jindy
I'm not understanding the 3rd and 4th knit symbols... can someone give me more detailed directions? I'm not understanding how I can slip one stitch to the cable, K2 from the left needle, then K TWO from the cable, when there's only ONE on the cable!???? HELP!?

Hey, i think the 3rd and 4th symbols are explained wrong. There are only 3 stitches to do.
Those two symbols in other patterns correspond to:
- slip 2 sts on cable, hold to front, p 1 from left, slip 2 sts back on left, k 2 from left (knit 2 over p1 right to left)
- slip 1 st on cable, hold to back, k 2 from left, slip 1 st back on left, p 1 from left (knit 2 over p1 left to right)
Hope that helps!
I am so excited to work this braid into a sweater I'm knotting, but I, too, am struggling with how symbol 1 differs from symbol 3 and how 2 differs from 4. I'm sure I'm being dense, but would really appreciate some clarification. Thanks!
I casted on 30 stitches on my size 2 double point needles with fingerling yarn and it looks like it is a hat that could fit a Barbie doll. Please help, I'm new to knitting.
I'm about to start on this project, and saw you post Brittany. The 30 stitch cable isn't knit in the round, like many hats are. It's knit 'straight', like you would a scarf, and then the length of the 'cable scarf' fits around the circumference of your head. Then you pick up stitches to complete the crown. At least that's my understanding from looking at the pattern.
There are some attention-grabbing time limits in this article but I don’t know if I see all of them heart to heart. There's some validity but I will take hold opinion until I look into it further. Good article , thanks and we wish more! Added to FeedBurner as nicely best online casino
